"It shall be the mission of the Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation to acquire, manage and distribute financial and other resources that shall be used for programs and projects which enhance or supplement Jacksonville School District #117 educational programs and provide enriched opportunities for students". The Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization and not connected with District #117. However, the Foundation supports the educational excellence of the Jacksonville Public Schools. Your contribution will help improve technology and other needs in our schools. In fact, your gift will affect all 3600 students in District #117. Call the Foundation Director at 243-9411, Ext. 333, for more information.

projects that would not have happened without the help of the Foundation.
As most of you are aware, the Public Schools Foundation has been instrumental in providing an alternative funding source for our schools. Because of their efforts, the District has been able to provide our students with opportunities they would not otherwise received. Though most of the focus has been technology, they have funded many other worthwhile projects as well. While there has been a long list of projects, those listed below will give you some idea of the scope of the Foundations work. They include: - $15,000 or more to each elementary school for computer labs (Specific donor request)
- New drums for the Jacksonville High School Band

Both staff and students have been positively affected by one or more of these projects -- projects that would not have happened without the help of the Foundation. It is important that we do what we can to ensure the continued success of this organization. As you can tell by looking at the project list, our students have benefited greatly by their efforts.
