Present Occupation: Career Counselor/Employment Advisor at Illinois College

Education: Bachelor Degree in English, Psychology, and Secondary Education from Alma College in Alma, MI. Master's in School Counseling from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

Community Involvement: Since relocating to Jacksonville in 2008, I have been highly involved with the Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors, the Young Professionals Network, and the Education Division, as well as the Jacksonville Symphony Society. I was the 2014 winner of the Kiwanis Applebee Community Service Award and was selected as one of Jacksonville Journal Courier's 20 Under 40 in its inaugural year.

Why I want to serve on the District 117 Board of Education: I am looking forward to serving on the Board of Education so that I can have a voice regarding the future plans and the direction in which District 117 is already headed and to build upon the foundation of good work that has been put in motion by the previous Board.

Professional Development Training
(1105 ILCS 5/10-16a) All School Board Members are required to complete a minimum of four hours of professional development leadership training covering topics in education and labor law, financial oversight and accountability, and fiduciary responsibilities of a School Board Member. A copy of certificate of completion remains on file in the Board Office.
